Home » Girls' Basketball News Lady Mustangs Come Out on Top at Tournament June 23, 2008 By iHigh Staff of Myers Park High School The Lady Mustangs have pulled their record back to 5 - 5 with a 2 - 0 record at the Oxford Webb Holiday Tournament. The girls won the championship game 56 - 54 in OT. They beat the host school team, J F Webb High School, who was 9 - 1 before the game began. The Mustangs got to the championship game by beating Kerr-Vance H.S. 73 - 20. Tiffani Stephens was the leading scorer with 16 points. Courtney Zona, Tootie Houston, and Mason Jeffries added 11 points each. In the championship game, Tootie Houston was the star. With 16 points and 10 rebounds, she pulled the girls ahead. Tiffani Stephens added 12 points and Courtney Zona had 10. In overtime, Nicole Iacopetti went 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Winning by only 2 points, her free throws were crucial.
